Today was another great day at the Ellis County Youth Livestock Show!
Heifers started the day and our students took home some banners!
Sydney Stewart started us off with 1st place Simbrah, followed by JT Stewart getting first place with his Simbrah as well.
They met head to head in the breed drive and Sydney beat out her brother, but taking home both Grand and Reserve is a great feeling!
Kaylee Harper exhibited her Angus heifer with a stiff competitive class and placed 3rd!
Jenna Rhodes completed the heifer show by taking both 1st place and Reserve Breed honors with her Simmental heifer!
The steer show went well as well! While it didn't add any students to our portion of the sale list, several students were one place out from making sale and ALL exhibited well and we noticed measurable growth in the show ring!
JT Stewart placed 5th with his American Steer
Shania Rhodes placed 4th with her British Steer
Jenna Rhodes placed 5th with her European Steer
Tripp Harper placed 7th with his European Steer.
Saturday is the Sale of Champions starting promptly at noon! Please come and support your growing/ successful Palmer FFA!

PARENTS: Students in grades 5-7 need to complete their Course Requests for next year. Last week, we sent home an email with video instructions so you could see what the students were selecting for next school year. They need to have these submitted by MONDAY, APRIL 3! If students need any help, please have them see our counselor, Mr. Anderson.
FYI...we extended the deadline to Monday so Athletics can talk to students about their program and expectations.

🚨 🏆 ECYE Sale of Champions
Palmer Jr FFA/ FFA currently holds 10 sale spots in the Ellis County Youth Expo Sale of Champions on Saturday!
Come support these wonderful students and bid on or add on to the projects they've worked so hard perfecting all year!
The Steer show today could potentially put another 4 students in the sale! Wish them luck!

Today was pig show day at the Ellis County Youth Expo and all 13 of our exhibitors did AWESOME!
We may not have gotten as many sale holes as we would have liked, several of our students finished on "the bubble", just one shot out of the sale.
We were able to snag 2 sale spots by Casen Cook with his Duroc gilt and Aubri Aduddell with her Hamp gilt.
Casen Cook and Emma Spurlock were also called back for showmanship!
Heifers and Steers finish the week, tomorrow.

Corsicana Tiger Classic Golf Tournament

Golf at the Mildred Eagle Invitational

The Ellis County Youth Expo continues to be good to Palmer Jr/ FFA students this week!
Following the success of the Broiler show, we had 3/4 pens of market rabbits make sale and several breeding rabbits placed well in their classes! Congrats to Peyton New, Gracie Zhanel, Cole Spurlock, Amethyst Ivie, Reese Zhanel, Kaylee Cargil and Ian Smith!
Today, goats showed and Rosa Castillo was able to sneak a sale spot as well in a very deep, very tough middle weight class.
Tomorrow pigs show and we are ready to keep the motivation!
