October is National Principals Month!

Late volleyball 🏐 update 7B, 7A and 8A swept Rice at their 1st home game. Next home game is Monday, Oct 13 at PHS.

Ms. Chapman's 5th grade Ag class has reached the long awaited unit: Bugs! Today students continued to expand on their knowledge of why insects are important to agriculture and learned about Orders of insects. In our last few days of the unit they will also discuss life cycles, adaptations and habitats. Stay tuned as they are very eager to get to look at Ms. Chapman's bug collection!

Ms. Chapman's 8th grade AFNR classes are learning about FFA LDE Contests this week. Today they got to watch some LDEs in action and work together to put themselves in the shoes of the judges. They discussed the rubrics and what to look for in public speaking- things like pace, tone, volume, gestures, poise, and mannerisms. Students had good comments and critiques. Some of them could make some pretty tough judges!

Ms. Chapman's 8th grade AFNR classes are wrapping up learning about FFA LDE Contests. Yesterday they got to put themselves in the shoes of the judges. Today they got to put themselves in the shoes of a competitor! Students chose lyrics from songs and used what they learned about LDEs to present them to the class as a speech.

It's officially "Fair Season" for Palmer FFA! Ag Product ID up and at 'em early this morning for their contest at the State Fair of Texas! Proud of these students for their dedication to practice and studying for the competition! More to come from the State Fair and Heart O' Texas throughout the next month!

Our Jr FFA ag mechanics program has really taken off. Here are some of our returning members picking up where they left off last year. These young builders are building a chicken coop that they will show at the State Fair of Texas Ag Mechanics Project show next month. We are looking forward to lots of new students joining our program in the next few weeks as they began learning valuable skills and begin construction on their projects.

Our football 🏈 teams played hard, but came up short tonight against Edgewood. Our next game is Thursday vs Ferris at home.
